An experience not to be mist.

A walk in the cloud forest.

The alarm woke us early and we went downstairs for our
traditional breakfast of fruit followed by scrambled eggs on toast.

By 8am we were walking in the Monteverde biological reserve. You need to get up early as the numbers admitted are limited.

We had driven through rain to get here and the trails were soggy though very well constructed and maintained. The views however, perhaps predictably in a cloud forest, were limited.

As the day progressed the rain eased and was replaced by cloud which gave the whole forest a magical transformation.

We hiked for six and a half hours altogether, excluding a half hour coffee break. Very few birds to be seen, but we came across a coati digging at the side of a trail.

A bit later on the trail, Christine with her gift for malapropisms, informed some rather astonished tourists that she had just seen a Kubota!
